Ocean Friendly Images
Ocean Friendly Images offers specialized photography services of nature and aerial photography for diverse applications such as real estate development and advertisement, coastal environment surveillance, archeological surveys, environmental restoration surveys, educational publication and scientific research.
We use professional photography techniques such as digital handheld photography and Kite Aerial Photography (KAP) to provide a unique perspective and detail of the subject to be documented.
You can also use our archival photography to make products such as T-shirts, calendars, posters, post cards, etc.
Since 2000 we have done aerial photography works in Banderas Bay for real estate developers to plan and design the developments as well as to advertise the development for its sale. We also have used Kite Aerial Photography to make altitude controlled photography with incredible results. With the KAP technique we can obtain the views of a future building before it is built and during the process of architectural design. The uniqueness of the aerial perspective obtained with KAP incorporates elements in the photos such as the shape of the property, the property’s proximity to the ocean, available road access, environmental features and panoramic views and perspectives for use as marketing and sales tools.
During 2004, 2005 and 2006 we received grants from the Drachen Foundation to test the applications of KAP to document and study humpback whales and gray whales in their breeding grounds of Mexico. We developed a methodology to use KAP as a non intrusive technique to document and study whales and the human activities around them in BanderasBay and in San Ignacio Lagoon, Mexico.
In 2007 we used handheld photography and KAP at the Vizcaíno Biosphere Reserve of the Baja California Peninsula to document the natural resources and environments of San Ignacio Lagoon such as the Bird Sanctuary Islands, the Gray whale sanctuary, the salt flats, the Mission of San Ignacio and the eco-touristic activities taking place in this area.
Since 2006 we have done environmental and landscape Kite Aerial Photography in the Yucatan Peninsula for archeological applications and for environmental recognition surveys. We have given KAP application courses at the Remote Sensing and GIS Lab of the CINVESTAV research center in the city of Mérida and are currently providing field work support and training in KAP.
Depending on your request, we can create the images you need or we can provide archival images for your projects. For further information and estimates please contact us. We look forward to providing you with a customized presentation and quote.
